Users of the largest trading platform (over 207 million) are prime targets for criminals. Crypto scammers pose as exchange employees to deceive users, for example, by pretending to be financial advisors and sending phishing links. Scammers also create fake bots and fraudulent groups on Telegram. Users can fall victim by downloading a hacked version of Telegram with an embedded virus. In early June, a Binance customer lost $1 million due to an account hack.
